PES 2012 3D: Pro evolution soccer remains a good series, but a handheld version is always somewhat lacking. Unfortunately, it always falls short of my expectations, and I don't understand why the difference with the console versions is so significant.
The advantage of PES 2012 3D: Pro evolution soccer is that multiplayer has finally been added. That already makes a big difference. Normally, you would get bored quickly. Graphically, the series hasn't really taken big steps, but progress is being made. The controls on handheld versions are always inferior, but this aspect has been greatly improved. Compared to previous installments, the button layout is now much more logical. This makes the game much more enjoyable. However, it still doesn't come close to the console versions.
PES 2012 3D: Pro evolution soccer for the 3DS is a nice distraction for a short while. The improvement is there, but until it becomes a good football game, a lot of time will have passed. The 3DS version is fun for everyone, but true football fans are better off playing PES on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, or Wii U.
