This is the final boss!
Snake is back at last. The last time we saw him on a Nintendo console was on the GameCube (in The Twin Snakes), in a cool remake.
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is amazing for its cinematic epic game entertainment: Snake delivers the best one-liners. Stunning 3D visuals. Exciting, immersive, and extensive. I'm a Nintendo fan and a Metroid fan too!
The stealth genre is fantastic with Snake. This is the benchmark for games.

More story than game.
The first trailer of this game that Konami released looked very impressive. You could see images of a snake with its snout in front of the screen, or what about a swarm of bees flying towards you. While the trailer was playing, all sorts of thoughts crossed my mind. Would the snout of that snake really come out of the screen? And would it seem like those bees are really coming towards you? This trailer easily convinced me to get Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D.

Did the game live up to these expectations? Not really. Is it a bad game? Far from it. The 3D effect is nice, but not at all as I had hoped. Instead of the images seeming to come towards you, it's more like the well-known diorama effect (like with most 3DS games).

In terms of gameplay, it's a typical Metal Gear Solid game. Lots of cutscenes. A bit too many in my opinion. Especially in the beginning, it's a bit of a struggle. But, this does contribute to the story. And believe me, it's very meticulously written. Especially towards the end, I found myself staring at the screen in awe.

I do have a bit of criticism about the controls. You look around using the X, A, B, Y buttons. This doesn't work smoothly at all. Especially in the beginning, I had a lot of trouble with this. I am convinced that the game plays better with the help of the Circle Pad Pro.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is definitely not a bad game. There may be some minor flaws here and there like controls that don't work optimally. If you enjoy typical stealth games, Snake Eater 3D is definitely a must!

Amazing remake
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is a remake of a fantastic Playstation 2 title. And now, the game has certainly not become any less! The graphics have been greatly improved. The 3D effect is also quite good, although it does feel a lot like you're looking into a diorama. (it doesn't pop out, you have to look deep into it) The entire inventory and map are now visible on the touchscreen, which is really handy. Especially with the smaller screen of the 3DS. You can also dress Snake in various different outfits to help him camouflage better. What I did find disappointing though is that the controls don't work well. For example, you aim using the a, b, x, and y buttons, and this is very annoying. I would have preferred a control scheme like in Resident Evil Revelations. Of course, you can use the circle pad pro. I haven't been able to test that myself, but it seems like it would work much better. Another nice addition is that the developers have hidden various Nintendo easter eggs in this game, like the Yoshis you can find throughout the entire game.
You simply must have played this game at some point. If you haven't done so yet, then you should definitely buy this version, but if you've already played it on the PS2, this game doesn't offer much extra.

Great remake!
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is a remake of the original PS2 version. I am very happy that a 3D remake for the 3DS has been released. And yes, beyond my expectations! The 3D effect is very nice. As mvoske also mentioned, it's more of a 'peep-show effect', but still, it looks great and the third dimension makes the game a bit more lively.

The story is very extensive and is not only told through text but also through cutscenes. There are quite a few of them! This helps to make things clearer as you progress.

As for the controls, I am slightly less pleased. It takes some getting used to. I wish the Circle Pad Pro was supported for this game. This remake is definitely worth the full price!

Beautiful remake!
Finally, I've had the time to try out Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D. And what a game! I've already easily put in 2 hours, time flies! Graphically, the game is of course a huge improvement. Only the long gameplay sometimes makes it a bit less exciting. This is definitely one of the first games where a lot of thought has been put into the 3D effect. So far, it seems to be a quite extensive game, so you'll enjoy it for a long time.

Great Metal Gear Solid for the 3DS
Now there is also a Metal Gear Solid for the 3DS. In Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, the quality is high and the graphics are beautiful. Everything is well-executed, just as you would expect from a Metal Gear game.
If you enjoy stealth and a good story, this is an ideal game for you.

A perfect remake!
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is a remake and it's a really good game. Usually, remakes are very bad, which is a shame, but I didn't have any issues with this one! The inventory and map are right there on the screen, which is very convenient! The controls are a bit lacking, but that doesn't affect this great game.

Where can I find the Yoshi easter eggs in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D?
Timtamtomg

When this game was released on the PlayStation 2, the developers hid frogs in various places. Just for fun, so players could turn it into a sort of treasure hunt. Now that Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is also playable on Nintendo's console, the developers have hidden Yoshis instead of frogs! They’re all in different locations than the frogs, so you can go hunting! In total, there are 64 of them. In this video, you can see an example of one of those Yoshis. It even makes a sound when you shoot it! Ohhhh, adorable!!! :)

What changes are there compared to the PS2 version?

Here you can read about the key differences made in this remake compared to the original PS2 version of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D.

- A menu with all the codenames has been added.
- You can carry much less food.
- All Kerotans have been replaced by Yoshis and relocated.
- One of the magazines in Graniny Gorki has been swapped for a copy of Nintendo Power.
- The Guy Savage dream mission has been removed.
- The transitions after the boss fights with Volgin and The Boss are slower, making it easier to obtain their camo.
- The GRU soldiers look slightly different; their eyes are no longer nearly squinted, but are now wide open and bright blue.
- You can use photos on the 3DS to create your own camo.
- Certain lines have been re-recorded, but most have not, resulting in a noticeable difference in the dialogue.

How do you solve problems in the Chyornaya Peschera cave?
Bramd de Groot

The Chyornaya Peschera cave, where you find yourself quite early in the game, is a very dark and confusing maze that you need to navigate your way out of. Even at the highest brightness setting, it's tricky to see well in this cave, so I recommend playing this part with heavy curtains drawn or in a dark room to avoid reflections. Also, make use of the map, which you can find here, to locate all the important items and the exit in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D. (Tip: go for the Torch first, as it makes finding the rest a lot easier.)

How can I use the camera of my 3DS in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D?
Mvoske
22069

In this game, you have the option to use your 3DS camera. How? Well, you take a photo of something like a plant. Once you've done that, you can change Snake's outfit to match the colours of that plant. This all might sound a bit gimmicky, and to be fair, it is a bit. But it can actually be quite handy. With good camouflage, enemies are less likely to notice you, making it easier to sneak up on them. And that might just be the best part of the whole Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D experience!

Secrets:
How can you escape from the cell in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D?
Bramd de Groot
39210
When Snake is locked up in the cell, there are two ways to escape in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D. The first method is to enter the code that The Sorrow holds during the torture scene (144.75) into your radio, which will open the door. The second method is to go to the menu, open the Snake Viewer, and spin Snake around continuously for a while. When you exit the menu, Snake will vomit on the floor, prompting the guard to come into the cell. You can then take down the guard and make your escape.

To kill The End early in the game in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, so you don't have to face him (and trust me, you're going to want to avoid that fight; it's incredibly tough), you need to shoot him at the spot where you first encounter him (when he is rolled out by The Fear, Ponizovje Warehouse).
