Reviews Mario & Sonic op de Olympische Spelen: Londen 2012 6 reviews - average rating 6,8Nice game with unique controls. Here we go again. Mario & Sonic are back at the Olympic Games, this time in beautiful London. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: London 2012 has previously appeared on the Wii and DS in earlier installments, but now the event can be experienced in 3D on the Nintendo 3DS!
I have to say, graphically, the game couldn't have been better. Everything is so sharp and beautifully detailed (in 3D). It feels like you're really present in the stadiums. And this feeling is further enhanced by the unique controls. Each event has different controls: buttons, touchscreen, microphone, or gyro sensor. It all works fine, but due to the controls, the game isn't really suitable for on-the-go gaming. People will see you blowing and moving with your 3DS. Read more...
The 3DS version of the Olympics in London also includes a Story Mode. London is shrouded in a mysterious mist that keeps getting thicker. Can you solve the mystery with Team Mario & Team Sonic? I've already completed it all. It can be challenging at times, especially facing opponents like King Boo in Badminton, but if you're a sporty gamer, you'll get through it. The story itself is lengthy. It takes a while to complete. This might increase the risk of boredom, but with unexpected events happening constantly, it remains extremely engaging.
Mario & Sonic have performed well at the 2012 Olympic Games, but in 2014, we're heading to Sochi for the Winter Games (on Wii U and 3DS). You might want to wait a bit longer, but with this super fun game, you'll be occupied for quite some time. Highly recommended! Hide. Mario & Sonic op de Olympische Spelen: Londen 2012 Cijfer:
8,0Equally famous for its creativity as it is infamous for breaking your hardware Ah, the Mario & Sonic games, you either love them or hate them. Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is already the third installment in the series and is also available for the Wii (U). The game mainly consists of a number of mini-games that quickly become boring. There is just little gameplay in the ''press A as fast as possible'' concept. The same issue that Mario Party struggles with. However, for children, this may be enough, and even adults can still appreciate the game, but chances are high that you'll get tired of it pretty quickly if you're a gamer.Mario & Sonic op de Olympische Spelen: Londen 2012 Cijfer:
5,5A great combination of Mario and Sonic! Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is a very fun game with a lot of modes. Some are more enjoyable than others, for example, table tennis is very amusing but also challenging. This is a comprehensive game that you'll want to play for a long time, and I've been playing it for a while now. You have to do all kinds of sports by clicking everywhere, and that's a lot of fun. Truly a top game once again! A great combination, Sonic and Mario.Mario & Sonic op de Olympische Spelen: Londen 2012 Cijfer:

Disappointing Some other people might enjoy this game, but I definitely did not. I was a big fan of the Wii version of Mario and Sonic and I hoped that this 3DS version would be just as good. Before buying the game, I looked it up online: and it turned out there were about 50!!! events included. When I played it for the first time, it wasn't that bad. But after a while, my opinion changed, as the events quickly became boring (with a few exceptions) and the story was finished quickly. Sometimes I feel like they hardly made an effort to make the events fun: in the marathon, you only have to pick up water bottles, in basketball it's impossible to aim properly, and in boxing, you knock out your opponents after just one hit.
I would only recommend this game to very young players (around six to seven years old), they might still enjoy Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: London 2012.Mario & Sonic op de Olympische Spelen: Londen 2012 Cijfer:

Great for the kids With this Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games for the 3DS, winning gold is a piece of cake, and that's a bit of a shame. It's not really aimed at the adult gamer.
Football and the 100-meter sprint are my favorite events. However, quite a few of the 57 sports are a bit underwhelming.
The 20 characters are meticulously detailed, and it does look nice.Mario & Sonic op de Olympische Spelen: Londen 2012 Cijfer:

Fun, but a bit too easy I find the Wii version of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games - London 2012 a bit better, but I was pleasantly surprised by this game. The game features over 50 events, and although some of them are quite boring, I really enjoy ones like table tennis and horseback riding.
What the Wii version doesn't have, and this one does, is a story. Mario & Sonic and their friends must stop Bowser and Eggman from causing mist. The story is simple and not really exciting, but in a game full of mini-games, that wasn't really the focus, which is logical.
Unfortunately, there is little challenge, and many mini-games are easy. There is a multiplayer option, but the game is mainly intended to be played alone. Even though with mini-games, it's often meant to be played together.Mario & Sonic op de Olympische Spelen: Londen 2012 Cijfer:
