Exceeding all expectations: Great challenging golf game!
I've played Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour for the GC many times. The game had so much to offer; challenge, a good selection of characters, beautiful level design, intuitive controls, and a great setting. Mario Golf: World Tour manages to improve on all fronts!

A completely new addition is the Castle Club. Here you play with your Mii in some course championships and can take on costume challenges. But the first thing you have to do is a handicap tournament. This determines your handicap (your level) and you will have to lower it continuously. The lower your handicap, the better your golf performance. Besides that, the Castle Club doesn't offer much. However, you can sign up for global tournaments there! You can upload your best scores and who knows, maybe you'll win the 1st prize.

In addition to the Castle Club, there is also the Mario Golf mode. Here you can simply play a stroke or match play. Or are you more in the mood for Speed Golf? It offers a wide variety of game modes. Even local and online multiplayer! The game's lifespan is infinitely long due to all these possibilities. There are also plenty of challenges to play. For example, you have to collect Star Coins and still make par. Or you have to collect 100 coins. It can get quite tricky, so practice well and choose the right characters.

Speaking of characters, the character roster is great. All the well-known, standard characters are back. You can unlock four of them. I've always wanted to see Kamek take a swing! There is also DLC available. These include two new courses and one character per pack. I bought them and these courses are also great (and challenging). I didn't expect the characters; can you imagine Nabbit hitting a ball while holding his bag of stolen items from New Super Mario Bros. U?

Another thing that overwhelmed me is the new course design. The courses all look beautiful (in 3D). Even the greens are designed in a way that you miss the hole just because of that one little hill. Another missed birdie!

The controls work great and are very simple: aim and press the A button at the right moment. The only downside is the camera that sometimes doesn't work properly. When you have to conquer a high hill and zoom out to see where your ball might land, you only see the beautiful textures of the mountain. You can't zoom out, so you have to move the camera up. That's a shame. And a pity, because one zoom out button could solve the problem!

The game really surprised me in a positive way! It's truly a good Mario spin-off and gives the sport of Golf some well-deserved attention. Everything looks great, making the game a real recommendation!

Golf doesn't change over the years, and neither do the Mario golf games. Yet, it's delightful to step into the Mario magic within the vast halls of the Castle Golf Club.
Mario Golf: World Tour is easy to play. You just need to press A. However, to master it, you'll need to be a hardcore gaming enthusiast. Choose the right character, the right equipment, pay attention to the weather, the terrain, and press A at the right moment.
Highly addictive game. It's so cool to keep getting a little better at it each time!

Relax with Mario in style!
Fun game to play through a few times. I did get annoyed sometimes when I was focusing on hitting and then "Here we go!" was shouted. So, I quickly turned off the sound. Besides that, it's great that there's no time pressure, you have all the time in the world to hit.

In Mario Golf: World Tour, you can play golf with your Mii character. Your Mii has its own animations and voice. When you hit a good shot, they make a sound that lets you know they’re pleased with the swing. However, if you completely miss the ball, your Mii will look disappointed and make an angry or sad noise. Sometimes, you just have to ignore this. It can happen that your shot is perfectly fine and your Mii is upset, or your swing is downright terrible and your Mii is all happy. I know, those Miis can be really stubborn!

The wind can be quite annoying in golf, especially the wind in the Mushroom Kingdom! Fortunately, in Mario Golf: World Tour (if enabled), the wind speed and direction are always displayed in the top right corner of the 3D screen. However, for beginners and even some advanced players, this can still be a poor indication. Take a look at the top left corner! There you’ll see the flag. This way, you can see how hard it’s actually blowing. It will definitely help!

One of the most important aspects of golfing is putting, and this holds true in Mario Golf: World Tour as well. Putting requires utmost concentration. You need to consider the surface, the distance, and the position of the ball. Often, a lot hinges on your putting, so a blunder can be quite frustrating. That's why I have a tip for you to help avoid most mistakes!

With every shot, a yellow triangle is displayed. This indicates where the ball would land, independent of any other factors. Of course, there are too many variables that can change, so you can never rely on it completely. However, this yellow triangle is also shown on the meter on the Touchscreen. You should pay close attention to this. It indicates the distance and is very important. For nearly every shot, you can trust this 100%, except when it comes to putting. It gives an inaccurate estimate for putting. Always try to let the meter run slightly beyond the yellow triangle, as otherwise, the shot won't be strong enough and the ball will stop well short of the hole. Are you putting uphill? Then make sure the meter is well above the yellow triangle! If the meter is blue (soft putt) and the yellow triangle is very close to the end of the meter, ensure that you switch to the normal (yellow) meter. This will make your putt stronger, and you'll need to be less far from the yellow triangle.
