How do Pikmin evolve from leaf to bud to flower?

In all Pikmin games, Pikmin evolve. You can see this by the little plant on their heads. When you first encounter Pikmin in a level, they have a leaf on their head. The second time you find Pikmin in that level, the leaves turn into flower buds. If you collect Pikmin again and the buds become flowers, that signifies the final evolution of the Pikmin in that level, meaning you’re very close to finishing the level.
Unlike Pikmin, Pikmin 2, and Pikmin 3, in Hey! Pikmin and Pikmin Bloom, the evolution does not affect the strength of each Pikmin.
In Pikmin 1, 2, and 3, the leaves evolve throughout the day or by consuming nectar.

In the Pikmin Park of Hey! Pikmin, you can set your Pikmin to work. You send them to different areas of the park to scour those areas. If you send the right Pikmin for each task and play through a few levels, they'll find Spranklium or items that contain Spranklium. Those items then go into the album, and Olimar writes a funny report about them. In that album, you can also take a closer look at the items using the stylus.
Pikmin and their appropriate tasks:
Red Pikmin: tall grass
Yellow Pikmin: electric wires
Blue Pikmin: puddles
Rock Pikmin: crystals
Winged Pikmin: small brown stones
I find it really amusing when you go to the Pikmin Park after a level and see the Pikmin dancing!
