Must-have for strategy fans!
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (FEESV) is one of the FE games in the 3DS series and a delight to play. Besides being a must-have for FE fans, it is also highly recommended for turn-based strategy enthusiasts.

In FEESV, you lead two armies. The setup is typical FE: you engage in battles with your units, each with unique qualities and characteristics. Plan your moves strategically and position your troops tactically. Exploit your opponent's weaknesses and strike hard! As in many FE games, you can upgrade your weapons, purchase tools, etc.

The story is decent, but not necessarily a reason to purchase this game. You really have to rely on the gameplay here. The two main characters are separated from each other at the beginning of the story (hence why you lead two different armies).

As expected from the FE franchise, the soundtrack is more than fine. Atmospheric music accompanies you through the battles and dungeons. It immerses you in the game.

The most valuable and enjoyable addition to this game is the ability to explore dungeons and villages in third person. This makes searching for treasures or special weapons a bit more interesting. In third person mode, you can see enemies walking around. When they spot you, they will chase you and engage in battle. From that moment, the gameplay switches to the classic top-down battle, familiar from every FE game.

I highly recommend FEESV. The third person mode is a refreshing change, the battles are as intense and engaging as ever, and the music completely absorbs you into this game.

To play music in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, you first need to start the game. Then, wait until the game prompts you to press a button. DO NOT PRESS THE BUTTON YET!

You’ll need the button on the bottom left of your 3DS (the one shaped like a +) to input a sort of code.

Press the button in this order when it tells you to: Up, Down, Left, Right, Up

Next, head over to Extras, and you’ll find the option for 'Music' (or 'muziek', depending on your language settings), where you can listen to all the music from the game.
